May, 2019

Dear ATC Members,

Welcome back to another ATC tennis season"  I know everyone is anxious to start playing.  We have several activities planned for the season so please read this letter carefully and save it for reference.

The ATC season begins on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 5:30 p.m.

The weekend round robins will begin on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.

June 7 through June 10 -- Courts are UNAVAILABLE!  Please cooperate.

Drop In Tennis --  The best way for you to become involved and meet other players is to come to any of the scheduled round robins.  Theses are all "drop in" events, so come ready to play.  When there is a large group of players, the coordinators may help organize the rotations.

Weekday round robins start at 5:30 p.m.
Weekend round robins start at 9:00 a.m.

Each round robin will generally have a volunteer "coordinator" who directs the rotation of play (every half hour) and helps get new members acquainted with other members.  We encourage players of all levels to join us and the coordinators will help play on the courts.

Club Updates -- During the course of the summer please watch for email notices for changes and new events.  You should also check this the Club's web site, www.andovertennis.com.

Adult Cardio Tennis Clinic with Rob Mailey -- Four (4) Thursday evenings in May and June, total cost $50.  Rob will also run a traditional adult clinic in July if there is sufficient interest.

Youth Clinics with Rob Mailey -- Seven (7) Thursday evenings in July and August, total cost $80. Check "Tennis Clinics" for details and an application form.

ATC Stickers -- Members should affix the enclosed ATC sticker on his or her tennis racquet to be identified with the ATC.  Only Phillips Academy staff, faculty and ATC members are permitted to use the twelve varsity courts.  ATC pays a substantial license fee for use of the courts during the assigned times, so don't be shy about politely asking non-members and non-Phillips players to leave the courts if you are waiting for a court.

We ask our members to always respect the Phillips facilities and the ATC schedule for court use; we are guests of P.A.

I hope everyone has a great summer and has an opportunity to play a lot of tennis.  Please contact any of the Board members with any suggestions for improvements.  Send feedback or questions to TennisPete@comcast.net

My Best Regards,
